Persons considering buying land in Bequia are advised that there is a great deal of privately owned land for sale on the island. Persons from many countries own second homes in Bequia where there has always been an excellent relationship between the visitor and the Bequia-born.

The present plan of the Government of St. Vincent & the Grenadines , however, to sell all of government land through agents on the internet is abhorred by most Bequia residents. No land is being offered to Bequians at prices they can afford, nor is any land being set aside for government projects now, or in the future. But much is needed here – a new garbage facility, a community centre, a modern clinic/hospital etc.

The People's Action Alliance is a community group, non political, formed to bring pressure on Government to alter this plan which will have such a drastic effect on the Bequia people and will potentially be fatal to the pleasant atmosphere of the island.
